If you are truly considering a second home, it is important to dig a bit deeper to find out if there are any rules/laws.

An example I was looking at buying a place in Crete, one of the Greek islands. It is also a place that your dollar can buy a lot but there are taxation issues for non-Greek citizens that have made it too expensive for me to consider.
