Since releasing her debut studio album 20 years ago, Pink has had children, turned 40 and coming to grips with “getting older.”In a letter to herself, posted recently on Twitter, she spelled out why she won’t turn to Botox or plastic surgery to augment her looks.
“You’re getting older. I see lines. Especially when you smile. Your nose is getting bigger,” she wrote. “You look (and feel) weird as you get used to this new reality. But your nose looks like your kids, and your face wrinkles where you laugh. And yeah you idiot … u smoked.”
Pink continues that she has on occasion considered altering her face, but then reconsiders the idea because she has seen how it can limit facial expressions. “You watch a show where you want to see what the person is feeling… and their face doesn’t move. I cannot get behind it. I just can’t. I want my children to know what I look like when I’m angry,” she wrote. “I’m fortunate because I’ve never really depended on my looks. I’ve decided that my talent and my individuality is far more important than my face.”
Born Alecia Beth Moore, Pink married Carey Hart, a former professional freestyle motocross competitor, in 2006. They have two children, Willow and Jameson.
Pink’s debut album “Can’t Take Me Home” was released in April 2000. She has since released seven studio albums, “Hurts 2B Human” was released in April 2019. In 2018, Pink sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl.
